  • FUJITEC showed a new Gearless Elevator Machine prototype called “Talon Drive” equipped with a permanent magnet motor. The motor transmit the movement to the sheave trough a special flexible belt that also pushes the wire ropes against the sheave. In this way it is possible to design lighter car cabs compared with conventional systems (see Article).
  • FUJITEC U. K. won a contract to provide 30 Panoramic Elevators for several railway station of the transport system that connect England with France.
  • FUJITEC Japan ended the design and manufacturing of the double deck elevators with automatic adjustable distance between cabs to be installed in a building of downtown Tokyo. The distance between cabs is adjusted automatically during the trip to the floor destination (see Article reprinted with permission of ELEVATOR WORLD Magazine).
  • FUJITEC China started the operations of a new plant that will produce escalators and autowalks for all around the world.
  • FUJITEC Singapore has been awarded with an additional order to modernize 600 elevators (in addition to the 520 of the last order) in three years by the HDB (Housing Development Board). The equipment to be modernized were installed 20 years ago.
